Electrical Measuring Instruments

This course covers the basic concepts of electrical measuring instruments, such as how electrical measuring instruments are constructed, and how they function to determine if a circuit is operating properly. Beginning with the basic D’Arsonval meter movement, it discusses the additional circuitry required to make the movement read current, voltage, and resistance. Other types of meters and measuring devices for both AC and DC circuits are also illustrated. The information presented in this course is from Avotek’s Aviation Mechanic–General textbook and from Avotek’s Avionics: Fundamentals of Aircraft Electronics textbook. Both are available for purchase through Avotek.com.

In this program we will examine how electrical measuring instruments are constructed, and how they can be used to determine if a circuit is operating properly.
